Some poems to celebrate National Poetry Month with

I know, I know, I am a few days behind, but I am going to attempt (mind you, I said attempt!) to write a poem a day. After today, I will post each poem separately. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

The baby cries on
through the night, making restful
sleep impossible.

I know you won’t come back.
It wasn’t meant to be
for us.

We grew too far apart
and went our separate ways.
It was simply too hard
for us.

You and I are very different
and we’ll never make this work.
We learned a painful lesson-
love just wasn’t enough
for us.

Crocus peeking through the snow
buds are on the trees.
The days are getting longer,
and warmer.
The birds are coming back,
busy building their nests.
Spring is on its way!
